Sales Tax

Ford Distributing currently collects sales tax on purchases shipped to Ohio. If you have a valid tax-exemption claim, you must submit a properly completed exemption certificate before ordering. You may access the Ohio Sales and Use Tax Blanket Exemption Certificate by clicking here.

Please note:

Make sure that all required fields are completed, including the type of exemption you are claiming. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

A copy of your vendor’s license is not an acceptable substitute for an Ohio state-approved form.

If you are purchasing items for your own use, we cannot accept a resale exemption certificate. You will be charged sales tax on these items.

Special note for Farmers: Not all items sold by Ford Distributing are covered by Ohio’s agricultural exemptions. Please consult with your tax advisor before submitting an exemption certificate.

Use Tax

Ford Distributing collects sales tax in Ohio only. This notice is for customers who take delivery of merchandise in other states.

Purchases are subject to use tax in other states unless exempt from taxation in those other states.

Purchases are not exempt merely because they are made over the internet or phone.

Other states require customers to report purchases that were not taxed and pay use tax on those purchases. Customers should check their state’s reporting requirements, including available tax forms to be used for this purpose.

Dealers in states other than Ohio may submit a copy of the appropriate state sales and use tax exemption certificate for their state for information purposes only.

Return Policy

Ford Distributing retains the right to determine whether an item may be returned or exchanged, and whether an order may be cancelled. We encourage customers to carefully consider this policy before placing an order since ALL returns, exchanges and cancellations are subject to approval by Ford Distributing. Please contact the experts at Ford Distributing BEFORE placing an order to minimize errors and disappointment.

Prior approval must be given by Ford Distributing before returning an item or order for refund or exchange. Please email [email protected] or call 888-222-8455 (8:30 am – 4:30 pm Eastern time, Monday through Friday).

Generally, Ford Distributing will consider returns within thirty (30) days of purchase. Refunds are made for the cost of the product only; shipping and handling charges are not refundable. If the return is not the result of an error on the part of Ford Distributing, a restocking fee of up to 20% may apply. Most items that are “drop shipped” from the factory to the customer are not returnable; returns of factory shipped items are at Ford Distributing’s discretion and are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Please note that Ford Distributing cannot accept responsibility for damage incurred after a customer has signed for receipt of merchandise in good condition.

Warranty Policy:

All products sold by Ford Distributing are warranted by the manufacturer. Please contact Ford Distributing if you have questions about caring for products purchased, or if you have questions about specific manufacturers’ warranty policies (usually found in the owner’s manual for a product). All questions about defective merchandise must be accompanied by the invoice number for the equipment or parts in question.

Ford Distributing and the manufacturer cannot be held responsible for the misuse, improper selection and/or misapplication of any merchandise. Product descriptions, pictures and/or other information communicated about items sold by Ford Distributing do not express or imply a warranty. Some wearing parts may not be covered by warranty.

Statement Regarding Warranty:

1. General Provisions: As a distributor, Ford Distributing makes no warranty of its own regarding purchased from Ford Distributing.

2. Warranty Claims: To obtain warranty service, the Purchaser must:

• Report the product defect to Ford Distributing and request repair prior to the expiration date of the applicable warranty term

• Show evidence, satisfactory to Ford Distributing, of a warranty start date

• Make the product available to Ford Distributing within a reasonable time period prior to expiration of the warranty period. In addition,

• All Dealers will warranty their technician’s work to the Purchaser and will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ford Distributing from such claims.

3. Disclaimer: Ford Distributing makes no warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent applicable, shall be limited in duration to the applicable period of warranty provided by the manufacturer or set forth above. The Purchaser’s only remedies in connection with the breach or performance of any warranty for any items sold by Ford Distributing are those provided by the manufacturer, or set forth on this page. In no event will Ford Distributing be liable for incidental, special or consequential damages.
