Sweepster brooms set the standard for performance and reliability. Sweepster brooms are carefully designed and manufactured to give many years of dependable service. Minor maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication, is usually all that is required to keep a Sweepster broom in top working condition.
Sweepster brush sections may need to be replaced from time to time, to keep the unit performing at its best potential. Brush sections can become worn down over time, especially if the unit is used with a lot of down pressure, and excessive rotational speed. To prolong the life of Sweepster brush sections of mechanical or hydraulic broom, make sure the operator is using the Sweepster broom correctly. If too much down pressure is used when operating the Sweepster broom, the brush sections will not perform as designed, and brush wear may be excessive.
For the best sweeping performance, use the slowest rotating speed that will do the job. Forward travel speeds should be at 5 mph or less. Make sure the Sweepster broom is level to promote even brush wear and better performance. The bristle tips should contact the ground in a 2" to 4" wide strip for the best sweeping performance, and the longest bristle life. Any wider contact than this will reduce performance and wear out the Sweepster brush sections too quickly.
Replacement Sweepster brush sections are designed to perform just like the original equipment. Do not use aftermarket brand brush sections on your Sweepster broom as performance and reliability will be decreased. We stock a huge inventory of Sweepster brush sections to fit any model and any width Sweepster broom.
Sweepster brush sections are made with all-poly bristles, all-steel bristles, or a combination of poly and steel in the same brush section. For many applications the combination poly and steel bristle performs the best. Steel bristles help to flick mud from the swept surface, and the mix of poly bristles will help to extend the life of the brush section. For sweeping loose dirt in a factory floor setting, all-poly bristles may be the best option.
