The Sahara Grit Spreader is a self-loading drop spreader for spreading salt, sand, and combination grit. The Sahara Spreader can even be used to spread lime for soil stabilization and road drying projects.
The Sahara Self-Loading Spreader eliminates the need to fill the spreader with a loader. Simply back the spreader into the grit pile and use the hydraulic tilt cylinder to raise the spreader into the working position.
Two sets of remotes will be required to operate the spreader. One set controls the cylinder, and the second set controls the dosing mechanisim in the spreader. Application rates are easily controlled from the tractor cab.
The spreader is designed to mount on a tractor with a Category 2 three point hitch. When fully loaded, the spreader weight can reach well over 5,000 lbs. requiring a stout tractor for safe operation.
