"The spreader is the salt/sand model. The hole bored in the u joint meant to attach to the spreader transmission shaft was undersize. I had to enlarge the hole to make it fit. Since I don't have a machine shop, I did the best I could with a Dremel tool and emery cloth. The Joint that attaches to the tractor PTO shaft works well. The protective cover for the metal shaft is about an inch too short. When the spreader is on the ground, the covers gap open about 1/4 inch. As the spreader is raised, the tubes don't slide back together; the edges jam. I need to try to get them realigned by hand. One or both of the tube ends will be destroyed by the end of this winter's sanding season."
